Overview

Egypt is a country of historical proportions; it dates back thousands of years and is known to have some of the earliest developments in writing, agriculture, government, and religion to name a few. This itinerary takes you off-the-beaten path to spots that define Ancient Egypt; Cairo, the Siwa Oasis, and Luxor, home to the ancient city of Thebes and Valley of the Kings.

Your first stop is Cairo, the capital city most famous for containing the Giza Pyramids Complex, the world’s oldest and biggest statue the Sphinx, and the house of mummification the Valley Temple. From there you’ll travel throughout and experience the stunning beauty Egypt has to offer with its extraordinary views, archaeological sites, and ancient temples. This itinerary has a lot of outdoor activities involving hiking, camping, sandboarding, swimming, boating, and even a hot air balloon ride. If you love adventure travel, this is the perfect trip for you!

Day 1 :

Arrive in Cairo

Arrival in Cairo, Egypt’s sprawling capital that is set on the Nile River. Upon arrival, your driver will be awaiting your arrival at the terminal and to drive you to the hotel. After check-in and time to freshen up, the remainder of the day is at leisure. In the evening, you’ll have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.

Day 2 :

After breakfast in the hotel, you’ll meet a local guide in the lobby for a guided tour of the Giza pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. From there, you’ll cruise across the desert sands on camel-back and enjoy an Egyptian lunch in a traditional restaurant. Afterwards, you’ll head back to your hotel and have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 3 :

Arrive at Siwa Oasis

After checking out of the hotel, you’ll meet a local guide in the lobby for a two day guided trip to one of the Western Desert’s most magical areas, Siwa Oasis. After a 4 hour drive from Cairo, you will have breakfast in Marsa Matrouh, one of the most beautiful cities on the Mediterranean. After breakfast, you’ll drive through the Corniche area and Fontas Island, arriving at your destination. You’ll go to the Great Sand Sea by 4x4 on a desert safari land cruise. You’ll enjoy dune bashing, sand boarding and watching the sunset from the desert side with Siwan tea and snacks. From there, you’ll stop at the hot spring and take a swim. At sunset, you’ll have a delicious dinner at a hot spring camp in the heart of the desert, followed by stargazing and meditation. This will be your accommodations for the night. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4 :

After breakfast, you’ll start your day hiking to Mountain of the Dead and your tour guide explaining the history of the Temple of the Oracle of Amun. Afterwards, you’ll swim and shower in the Salt Lakes followed by the Spring of Juba, also known as Cleopatra’s Pool. Afterwards, you’ll visit Dakrur Mountain and learn a little history about its origins. Then, you’ll ride a paddle boat to Fitnas Island and enjoy the sunset. From there, you’ll visit the Traditional Siwa House where you’ll learn about the Siwan people culture and its history and then it’s off to Shali Fortress. Your accommodations will be at the Panta Lodge. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5 :

Arrive in Cairo

After breakfast, you’ll head back to Cairo for an 8-hour trip. Once you arrive at the hotel, the evening is at leisure. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 6 :

Arrive in Luxor

After breakfast, a private driver will take you to the airport for your flight to Luxor, the site of ancient Thebes and the pharaohs’ capital at the height of their power. Once you arrive, a private driver will meet you at the terminal and drive you to the hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening, you’ll have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 7 :

After breakfast, a local guide will meet you in the lobby for a guided trip throughout the East and West Banks of Luxor. You'll see the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, and Colossi of Memnon. Then, you’ll cross the Nile to the Karnak and Luxor temples. During your tour, you’ll have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, the guide will drop you off at the hotel. The evening is at leisure. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 8 :

In the early morning, a driver will pick you up and take you to experience the enchantment of Luxor with a sunrise hot air balloon trip. As dawn breaks, you’ll soar above the historic city, witnessing the temples of Karnak and Luxor gleaming in the early light. The Nile River shimmers below, reflecting the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The Valley of the Kings and Queens come alive as the sun unveils their intricate details. Drift peacefully in the gentle breeze, capturing the essence of ancient Egypt from a unique perspective. After an hour of flight, you descend to a luxurious breakfast amidst the Egyptian countryside, relishing the memories of this awe-inspiring journey. After being dropped back at the hotel, you’ll have the rest of the day at leisure. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 9 :

After breakfast in the hotel, a private car will pick you up and head to nearby Luxor International Airport for a safe departure flight back to the USA. Meals included: Breakfast
